Sadie at 18 months

Eighteen months!! I cannot believe she is 18 months!! A year and a half! A little toddler! Oh gosh we love her so much.

I never know where to start these posts, because I just want to gush about how amazing she is, haha. She has picked up a ton of words this month, and it seems like she says something new every day. We have been keeping track, and she says about 60-70 words now. I won't sit and list them, haha, but some of my favorites are: please, shoes, woah, tree, Sadie, daddy, swing, baby, cracker, and pretty much of all her animal noises. Quack and meow the most, haha. She has started telling us and Lady "no" sometimes and it makes me laugh. She will also tell herself no as she does something she knows she isn't supposed to do. She holds up a finger and tells me "shhhh!" when Lady is sleeping. But if I try to shush her in church she tells me no. So much sass, haha.

She can communicate so well with us by just using her words, pointing, gesturing, and her own language. It has helped so much with when she's upset. She still has tantrums, but they aren't as often. Her tantrums are dramatic, but she can come down pretty easy.

She loves to hold hands when he walk and will stick her hand up and say, "hand!" I love to hold her hand. She's also good at ripping her hand away and taking off at full speed. She's so fast now! It freaks me out when we are in the street. She loves to be outside and playing. She loves playgrounds, but she would also jus the happy running in a big grass area and yelling, "weee!!" She loves swings and slides, and will throw herself down the slides by herself. She yells "wee" and "woah" as she swings. She loves when kids swing next to her. She calls every kid she sees a baby. And I love it. She is pretty baby obsessed, and carries around her own baby doll and feeds it a bottle. Hoping that means she'll like her little brother!

She's still a great eater, and is currently obsessed with fruit loops. I had to hide the box out of sight because she would ask for them all day. She LOVES vegetables still, but also has the biggest sweet tooth! The sight of ice cream can make her go insane, haha. And she knows the word cookie. And asks for them often.

While we are definitely not potty training right now, we are introducing the potty to her. We bought a toddler toilet seat attachment, and just let her sit on it whenever she wants. She actually asks to sit on it a lot. We taught her the sign for potty, and she says "potty" and does the sign whenever she wants to sit on the toilet, or whenever she goes poop. Just the other day, she asked me to sit on the potty. Since she doesn't really get it yet, I usually just leave her diaper on. Well I sat her on the toilet with her diaper on, and she pooped!!! It was crazy, haha. I feel like she's actually starting to grasp the idea of going potty. We still don't want to even attempt until after the baby comes. But we think maybe at the end of the summer, when life settles down a little bit, we can try. It just gives me hope that she even has interest.

She is obsessed with running and hiding when Nathan unlocks the front door to come home. It is the funniest thing and she does it every day. She will drop whatever she's holding and take off as fast as she can for her bedroom, then she giggles and waited for Nathan to come get her. I love it. She's had a babysitter a couple times this month, and she had done so well. I don't think she even notices we are gone, haha.

We have "school" a couple times a week. We read books and sing ABC's and count things and look at flash cards and then color a picture of a certain animal, learn what it says, and watch a youtube video of it. It's been fun and adding some structure to our days. She LOVES to color. She could color forever. She also loves stickers.

She is SO cuddly. She loves to snuggle and be held. She loves blankets. She loves to gives kisses and hugs. She tries to cuddle with Lady, haha. She's also just so sweet. I can't get enough of her. She bring me her "owies" and wants them to be kissed. She says the word "hug" and loves group hugs. If Nathan kisses me, she has to run over and get kisses too. It's the best.
found this on my phone. so cute
She still loves cars and balls. Her toys of choice every day. She likes kicking the ball and playign soccer. She also loves to sit down across from us, yell, "ready, set, go!" and roll the ball to us. She loves to be chased and tickled and tackled. She still loves reading to, and points at all the pictres and tells me about them. Sometimes with real words, but mostly with gibberihs. Whenever she sees letters, like her foam letters or letters in books, she calls them "A, B, C's." She also loves to count things. But she almost always forgets the number one, and sometimes she counts things and says three or four for each item. But I love it, haha.

She is such a bundle of sunshine. She's basically always happy. Always playing and smiling and laughing. I love every second with her. I know I sound obsessed, but I am. She is just the best!!!!
