We've been married 4 years!!! Yay!!!
That seems like such a stupid, little number though. We've been in love for 9 years and 4 seems really silly, haha. But that's okay. It's still a reason to celebrate! Yay love!
On the actual day, we kept it simple and went to lunch! Sadie and I met Nathan at Chick-Fil-A and Sadie was in rare Sadie form that day. She was cracking us up! Our anniversary lunch revolved around our toddler. But.. she had pigtails soooooooo
This is basically my new favorite picture. Sadie is the best thing that has happened to us since we got married, and watching Nathan be a dad has made me love him 10 million times more than I ever thought possible.
It was my turn to plan the anniversary and I told him it would be simple. BUT I LIED! I planned a little getaway for us. I have never slept away from Sadie, and Nathan has only slept away from her when she and I go out of town. So I wanted us to have a night away together before the next human joins us! I knew we wouldn't go far, and I looked around at a few places, but ultimately I wanted us to go down town. It is kinda silly because we are always down town, but it's so special to us. It's so nostalgic. It's where we met and fell in love and lived as newlyweds. I got us a place by The Gateway because that's where we always used to go and we never go there anymore, haha. All I told Nathan was that we were doing something. He came home and then Katie showed up. He got a little suspicious but then he just figured we were going out without Sadie. I gave him an address and told him to drive to it. We got there and he was still so confused!!! He said he didn't really think we'd get a night away. Even when I told him we were staying there, he asked if Katie was going to bring Sadie out to sleep with us, haha. He was so surprised and so happy!!!!!
We checked in and saw our awesome room. Then we got right out and walked to The Gateway. I was so excited because I was going to let Nathan get dinner at Applebee's. He loves that place for some reason, and I don't like it. BUT APPLEBEE'S AT THE GATEWAY IS CLOSED NOW!!!! I was so sad. But we got CPK and I felt a lot less sad. We took our time eating dinner and enjoying the fact that we didn't have a toddler to control. After we slowly walked up and down the mall just like we always used to do. Then we went into our favorite candy shop and picked out candy and soda. We talked about going to a movie, but decided we were old and wanted to relax and enjoy our hotel instead. We got frozen yogurt to take back to the hotel. The frozen yogurt place is now where the Haagen Dazs was that we met at. We could peek into the back and we saw that they still have all the same freezers and sinks and floors and everything back there. It was so weird to see! But also pretty cool. Especially to be there on our anniversary.
We watched some movies and talked and laughed and enjoyed our time together. We had our candy and soda in bed while we watched Netflix. It was crazy to go to sleep without checking on a baby, but also pretty freeing. It was so wonderful to have time just for Nathan and I with no distractions. We needed this. And it was so much fun!!
I slept much better than I thought I would. We hung out, then ate some awesome, free hotel breakfast before heading back to Sadie. Sadie was so excited to see us, but don't you worry, she had a freaking blast with Katie!! I love having such an amazing friend that I feel so comfortable leaving my baby with.
I love my sweet husband. I am so thankful that he chose me 4 years ago and keeps choosing me every day. I cannot imagine spending forever with anyone else. I am a lucky girl.
