Sadie meets Jack!

Delivery was so easy and so quick, I couldn't believe we were already in the recovery room. And we still had the whole night! (Sadie was born at 11pm, and we got to recovery around 2am, so it was rough.) We hung out with our new baby, watched Netflix, ordered up some dinner, and then my mom brought Sadie over!!

I was nervous for how she'd react. I had it all planned out that Nathan would hold Jack and be in the corner, so that she'd see me first and come over and I could get her comfortable before introducing the baby. I didn't want her to be jealous or overwhelmed. Well she walked in, looked at me, then immediately over to Nathan. She pointed and said, "baby!" It was honestly like she knew he'd be there! Like she was just waiting to meet him! It was so sweet and my heart just burst. She gently touched him and his blankets and said, "hi baby" over and over again. We all sat on the bed together and it's one of my favorite moments. She didn't need my help adjusting at all. She is a natural big sister. She was obsessed with his nose (still is), and kept pointing to it and saying nose over and over. She also really liked the fluff ball on his hat. They didn't stay too long because our room was small and Sadie is crazy, but I loved having them meet. It was a perfect moment!

That night I slept a tiny bit. Jack was a great nurser, but he was also spitting up a lot of stuff that didn't get squeezed out during delivery (nurse said he came so fast he didn't have time), and a couple times he choked, so I was on edge. They took him to the nursery to monitor his spitting up so I could sleep. He nursed well and slept well. I took a nap the next morning while Nathan watched him and did home work. I had the best shower ever. (Nothing is better than the post-labor shower.) Katie stopped by to meet him and bring us lunch. They did all the little tests on him and approved us to go home! I couldn't believe it. Our hospital stay felt like a million years with Sadie and they seriously fought us to stay when we wanted to go home. This was easy breezy. (Oh yeah and we took 800 pictures of Jack before we left)
My view as I got into bed
My view the next morning when they brought him back from the nursery. He was all bathed and heavenly!

We got home and, again, Sadie was stoked out of her mind to see the baby! I think she couldn't handle the fact that he was coming to her house. She gave him kisses and head pats and kept talking to him and even meowed at him a couple times. It felt great to be home and have my family together.
Proving she's still the boss of everything
