Half a year old?! How is my baby half a year old?!?!
This has been a fun month. You are getting less and less like an infant, and more and more like a baby. You are sitting up on your own, though you still like to fall a lot. You move around a bit on your stomach, and try to move forward to get toys. Toys are your life. You want something in your hands at all times. You are such a grabber. If there aren't toys to grab, you'll just grab my hair or my skin. If I put my face close to yours, you reach up and grab my face and try to shove it in your mouth. You lean in to give kisses if I make a kisses face and I love them. Even if they're wet. You really are so cuddly. I absolutely love it.
You love to be carried and bounced and thrown around. You love rocking back and forth and have started rocking yourself back and forth while you sit to entertain yourself. You like to sit and have Sadie bring you a million toys. You also like to lay down and play with her toys while she plays and it makes me happy to see you guys playing together. You guys are both obsessed with each other. When you are on your back on the floor, she runs over and lays on you and you just laugh together. She can always make you smile.
You had your first Thanksgiving, and we headed up to Idaho to see grandma and grandpa Merkley. You slept through dinner and that was about it, haha. You did decide that sleeping was lame, and there were two nights where either me or your daddy ended up getting up around 3am to take you downstairs because you refused to sleep. Thanks for that dude.
We decided to sleep train after Thanksgiving and things have definitely gotten better, but there's still room for improvement, haha. Some nights you do great, and others you're still up several times. Just hit and miss, but better. You started sleeping on your side and you loved it. Then you started rolling to your tummy and you love that too.You tend to smash your face into your bed which freaks me out, but you seem to sleep better when you're on your stomach.
I feel like your colic is completely gone. I can't remember the last time you had an episode of screaming for no reason. You are mostly just so happy and chill. You love to talk, and when you're getting grumpy you start to yell, and it's kinda funny. You actually notice the TV, and will watch shows when they're on sometimes. You especially love Storybots, which is nice because that's your sister's favorite show. You can take your pacifier out of your mouth, and put it back in, which has been seriously helpful! You love bath time, and kick around and smile when you're in there. Sadie gets so excited when you join her in the bath.
You are still my little mama's boy, which I love. Even though it usually means you cry until I pick you up. Your personality is coming out more and more and I just love it! You definitely have some of your big sister's crazy, but you are more mellow and sweet. I use the word sweet a lot to describe you, but it's really just the best word. BECAUSE YOU ARE SOOO SWEET!!!!
