Nathan and I get antsy if we sit around our apartment for too long.
It literally starts to drive me crazy.
I used to be a lot better at sitting around, but now that I work part time and spend all my mornings at home, I need to escape a lot more.
We love drives.
Seriously.
WE LOVE THEM.
Ever since we started dating. We would drive around everywhere.
It's something I always did as a teenager, so I love that Nathan loves it just as much.
We have literally explored every inch of Salt Lake Valley.
Some nights we say we are going out to get dinner, and two hours later we will be somewhere in the mountains.
I LOVE IT!!!!!
The only problem is, sometimes we get sick of exploring the same areas over and over.
It's what happens when you go on drives 3 times a week and you've been together in the same area for 7 years.
So on Saturday, we took the 80 out west, and just didn't stop driving until we looped all the way back around and ended up near Saratoga Springs. It was awesome. It was so weird to get on the other side of the mountains I know so well, and see how much space there is. Just land for miles. I busted out the real camera, which I haven't done in forever, and it felt good. We had music and cadbury eggs and sunshine and each other and it was Heaven.
I love adventures with this guy. He makes everything fun.

Saturday Drives
Sunday, August 11, 2013
apparenlty all my blog posts are now pictures
Last weekend it was rainy all Saturday and we needed to get out so we drove and got out of the car and walked. I wanted a good view of the city and we got a pretty decent one. We like finding new places to explore.
Nathan always has to pose gay. It makes me want to punch him.
We love summer time!!

antelope island
Utah has a lovely mid-summer-holiday, Pioneer Day! Nathan had the day off so we went out. We visited the little fair at Liberty Park and got awesome fair food.
After we decided to head to Antelope Island. It's a Utah state park on an island in the middle of The Great Salt Lake. It's only about 40 minutes from down town. We have wanted to go forever. It was a lot of fun!
Thoughts on Antelope Island- totally worth the $10 to get in. It was gorgeous! You pay the money to get in, and then you hardly see another human! We saw a few other cars driving by, but the island is so big, you feel like you have it all to yourself. There are lots of little roads to drive off on and look outs. Animals just roaming around. That picture of the buffalo was taken with no zoom. He was just chillin and eating by the side of the road. There are places to rent boats and things to take out on the lake. There are also beaches. We drove past one with a bunch of people on it. I can't imagine swimming in the Salt Lake, but apparently some people like it. I wouldn't mind just hanging out on the beach if it hadn't been a billion degrees. That's one thing I would suggest, don't go in the middle of summer. There were tons of walking and hiking trails that we wanted to go on but I seriously died as soon as we got out of the car, so that wasn't happening. I think we'll go back in the fall, because it was gorgeous. There is a restaurant that is supposedly really good, but we didn't eat there. There is also a really cute little farm to explore. It was a lot of fun. Although, Nathan and I really like driving, taking pictures, outdoors, exploring places, and buffalo apparently. So if those things aren't your cup of tea, then you probably don't wanna go.
Also, what the heck is the difference between a buffalo and a bison? I don't really know which ones are on the island.. but whatever it was we saw, it was ugly and hairy and really scary looking. And I liked it.

Weekending
Oh look! Our weekend told through 90 pictures! Wahoo!
We have a professional evaluation done on us each year at work. Here are my scores. Everything fell in the "Highly Effective" range and my VP told me these were the highest scores he has ever seen a 2nd year teacher get. I love what I do :)
To celebrate my scores, we went out to Del Taco on Friday. But we were too lazy to go all the way in and too hungry to wait to eat until we got home. So we sat and ate in the parking lot. Ohhhh I love Del Taco. Guys.. I love it so much!
After Del we wanted to enjoy the rainy, fall weather and we went on a drive. We ended up at the same lookout Nathan took me on our 2 month anniversary. Almost 4 years ago!! Craaazzy.

Saturday we were super restless. We wanted to get out of the house but had no idea what to do. We decided to drive out to the Salt Flats just for fun. But instead of stopping.. we just kepy driving. Further and further west. We went out completely past the mountains to the west of us, and then past a second mountain range. It was so much fun just to drive and talk and listen to music and see places in Utah we didn't even know existed. There were some cute towns and tons and tons of open space. We ended up wrapping back up around the mountains and found ourselves on the other side of Provo Lake. It was a fun adventure!
When we made it back to Salt Lake, neither of us wanted to go home yet so we decided to walk around Liberty Park. We want to enjoy the cool weather before cool becomes freezing and we are cooped up forever.
Today consists of church, tacos, and being a little lazy. Also, peppermint hot-chocolate. Nathan says it's wrong because it's a winter drink and we are very much in the middle of Fall. But it tastes pretty perfect to me!
