I thought about doing some big, mushy post to my awesome husband since it's his birthday, but Nathan literally never reads the blog unless I tell him to. Soooo nahhh.
I'll be honest, Nathan's birthday snuck up on me this year. To the point where I really had nothing planned besides a present. Things have just been so crazy! I had a baby you guys! Give me a break.
Luckily, he is easy to please. I had ordered him the 5-disc, extended edition of The Desolation of Samug, which was surpassingly hard to get. It kept selling out after I had already ordered it and I would get an email telling me it wasn't available. I finally got my fingers on it, thankfully. I gave it to him the Saturday before his birthday (we always celebrate on Saturdays) along with breakfast in bed which is really just a smoothie because Nathan can't eat anything for the first few hours he's awake. We spent the day hanging out and eating and watching the Desolation of Smaug, of course. We did some errands and some Christmassey things, but really it was a low-key day, which was nice.

I love how tired he looks. And Sadie sucking on her jammies. |
For dinner that night I told him he could have anything he wanted. He said he wanted bacon and eggs. Seriously. (PS. Can you tell he got a haircut for his birthday??)
On his actual birthday, I decorated the house for him a bit, we had lunch together, and then he got off work a little bit early and we ran errands. We got Cafe Rio and watched Brooklyn 99 before he spent the rest of the night doing homework. Birthdays as adults are so much fun :)
There was, of course, a short break in the homework so we could sing and have cake! Sadie likes fire.
So fun! Happy birthday to Nathan!
