Pumpkin picking

Before we actually carved the pumpkins, we had to go pick them out. Probably should have blogged about that first.
I didn't want to just go to a lame grocery store to get pumpkins when we have so many cute pumpkin patches around here! But I also didn't want to pay 15 bucks a person just so we could enter the patch. Thanks to google, I found the cutest little farm and it was free entry! With lots of fun free things too, like a petting zoo and slides and a mini corn maze. There were also tons of food trucks, a cute market, and the pumpkins were awesome and cheaper than the grocery store.

Sadie was in HEAVEN. There were thousands of pumpkins, and she was running from pumpkin to pumpkin saying, "this pumpkin. This pumpkin. This pumpkin." Her favorites were the little ones, and she called them "baby pumpkins." She took the tiniest, cutest pumpkin home, haha.

We loved this place. We will definitely go back next year.

potty training

Potty training deserves it's own post because it ruled my life for a month. Don't feel bad if you can't potty train your kid in 3 days like the book says. Because it definitely took a month for us.

Sadie LOVED her undies and loved sitting on the potty. She did not love actually peeing in the potty. The first couple days she was downing liquids like they say the kid should, and she was peeing little tiny bits every 20 minutes. I was cleaning up these tiny accidents for 3 days with no pee in the potty. I wanted to rip my hair out.

On the fourth day we FINALLY got pee in the potty. It was a huge relief. She also started holding her pee longer so there were less accidents, but they were bigger. SHe loved getting her candy and stickers for going pee in the potty.

Then came the digressions. One day would be amazing, the next day she would have several accidents. She loved the reward system, but didn't seem to care if she didn't get any candy either. We couldn't leave the house because she would pee the second we did. I felt trapped inside the house and was doing nothing but cleaning up pee. I had a breakdown one day and Nathan let me take the evening off. I went to Target, haha.

Slowly things just started clucking into place. She started asking to pee and running to the bathroom. We would go days without accidents. She loved to eat her candy laying on the ground, with no clothes on.

She's essentially completely day trained (we'll tackle sleep later), but we do still have the occasional accident. She holds it really well, and isn't scared of public bathrooms. We haven't braved church without a pullup yet, and she likes to pee when she's in timeout (pretty sure that's on purpose), but it's a relief to have things going smoothly!

Halloweenie stuff

YAY HALLOWEEN!!!
Why are holidays so much more fun with kids??
It's a tradition in Nathan's family to make homemade decorations for Halloween. This is something Nathan and I have done every Halloween since we've known each other. And I love it. A couple weeks ago we put on Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin, made pumpkin cookies, and made decorations!
Sadie enjoyed her dinner while decorating and watching the movie

We got pumpkins from a farm, then carved and decorated them! Sadie helped Nathan and I carve them ours, and Sadie got to draw all over hers. She loved it. She kept hugging her pumpkin.
Sadie asked to sleep with one of the pumpkins in her room. We put an electric candle in there and she talked to it as she fell asleep.

Sadie's birthday

I love birthdays.
I love spoiling my baby and NOT stressing about throwing a party for other people, haha.
We had the best day for Sadie's birthday! Her birthday was on a Tuesday, and we celebrated that Saturday before.
We did the normal decorating, and did a Minion theme this year. Because DUH. She's obsessed.

She was so confused and so excited when she woke up. She played with balloons and ran around yelling, "Minions!!!" And then we let her open a couple presents. We tried spacing presents out throughout the morning. She got a few from us, and so many awesome friends and family sent her the cutest presents. We let her play with her new toys all morning.
We gave Sadie the Fisher Price talk-n-play house as her main present and she loves it!!
From grandma and grandpa in England!
Loving her backpack from the Crosbys
10 dollars from great Nana Graff
After lunch and naps, we took Sadie out to her favorite restaurant: Mcdonalds, hahaha. Then we went to her favorite place: The farm!
1 year difference

We came home for a movie, pinata, singing and CAKE!

It was the perfect day celebrating our sweet, little 2-year-old.
On her real birthday (because I couldn't stand the idea of not doing ANYTHING on the real day), she had a donut for breakfast, and we played at the park all day.
I don't know what this face is, but I am obsessed.

Yay for Sadie!!!!!!!
