ASD thoughts

I'm doing after school detention today. And it's soooooooo boring. There's only 3 kids. And they are so good. Why did they even get detention in the first place?

So anyway. Here's a list.
  • Today a student blamed me for trying to make his life harder by hiding the calculators under a bag of almonds in my desk.
  •  The season finale and after the final rose of The Bachelor was freaking painful. But I've gotta say, I feel bad for Juan Pablo. Don't get me wrong, he's a sleazy jerk, but Chris Harrison was attacking him last night and getting the audience and past bachelor contestants to attack him. It made it all worse. The room was basically filled with jerks. And Nikki is really stupid.
  • I might get some people hating me for this.. but am I the only one who thought Frozen was just a cute movie? Don't get me wrong, I really liked it, and I belt "Let it Go" out when driving around by myself. But I kinda don't understand the freakish obsession. Yeah, it was really cute and funny and I loved the twist with the whole "act of true love" thing. But guys, let's just let it go and move on. See what I did there?
  • We're reading "Romeo and Juliet" in my Language Arts class right now. We are also doing a huge focus on discussing healthy relationships, because 9th graders don't seem to understand that. For an assignment, they had to make a list of the things they wanted in a future spouse. The girls were so excited and go right to work. Sadly, I only have 3 female students. The 14 boys giggled the entire period. I don't even want to read their lists.
  • I found killer airline tickets yesterday and purchased myself a trip to my motherland for spring break to see a little bit of family and a little bit of the beach. Ohhhh Mission Viejo. I will never stop missing you.
  • Today a kid found a roll of white duct tape on my desk and freaked out. "You NEVER see ALL WHITE duct tape!!!! This is the best day!" I let him have a small strip and he wrapped it around his pencil. All his friends thought it was cool too. What?
  • We get to go to the Clark County Fair this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't know what it is, it's basically the best thing ever. It's a county fair held in Nathan's teeenny tiinnnyy home town. You guys, one time there was a swimming pig!! The first time I met Nathan's family is when I went to the Clark County Fair in 2008 with them. I went once when Nathan was on his mission, but we got married the weekend of the fair in 2012, and Maddie was born the weekend of the fair last year, so this is the first time we'll be able to go together since before Nathan's mission! It's so nostalgic and exciting for us. Plus, we get to stay with Amanda and Brad!! We are gonna eat funnel cakes and drink texas twisters for every meal. Then finish it off with dip n dots. You have no idea how excited I am.
  • I think I will let these kids go early. They all borrowed books from my library, and they are actually reading! Or they're really good fake-readers.
  • Speaking of reading, have you guys seen that app that flashes words at you, making it so you can read 600 words per minute? While I think this is cool and all, am I the only one who thinks it's also dumb? Why are we in such a hurry for everything? Reading is supposed to be a relaxing time where you kick back and take your time. Why do we need to read novels in 90 minutes? So we don't have to wait for anything? So we can get back to playing on Facebook? I love reading. I don't want my books to be over before I can even enjoy them. I think I'll stick to reading at my own speed, thanks.
  • How I Met Your Mother is almost over and I am having so many feelings. Especially after the past two episodes. And after I read that theory on how the show might end. I WILL KILL YOU WRITERS. I WILL KILL YOU!!!!!!!!
  • Last night as Nathan and I were about to go to sleep, we decided to jump out of bed, throw clothes on, and run to Target, 2 minutes before it closed, to get Butterfingers and cookies. No regrets.
  • I can't think of anything to put right here.
  • I just dropped a cheerio.
  • I am snacking in dry cheerios.
  • Last weekend Nathan and I were at Costco and we got into an argument about what year "The Wedding Planner" came out in. Could we get any cooler?
