I suck at blogging

I super suck at blogging lately. I have so many things I need to write about. Valentine's day. Oscar party. New apartment. New ward. New callings. Work...

It's overwhelming me!!!!!!!!!
So you are gonna get it all in one jumbo list!
WARNING: This post is looooong.

1. New apartment.
Remember when we moved? We totally did! We had awesome friends who came out to help. I love the area we live in so much! It's a suburb so it's safe and has lots of stores and malls and everything you could possibly need right by us! Our apartment is great, though I will be honest, I am still adjusting. We downsized. We went for a 1-bedroom since it's just us two right now and this isn't a long-term move. I miss the space. I miss how open and bright our old apartment was. I wish I could just bring it over to this new area. I am trying to be less of a complainer though, so I will shut up. It's a great place. The complex is nice and we never hear our neighbors and we have new carpet and appliances. I really do love it. It's all set up now, but I don't feel like taking pictures. Maybe a different day!
First meal in our new apartment.

2. New ward.
Remember how I had some problems in my old ward with no one really reaching out to us after we lost the baby? Remember how it felt like we were invisible? Well, my new ward is EXACTLY the opposite. Holy freak, it's exactly how a ward should function. Everyone, I;m not kidding- everyone, introduced themselves to us. The relief society presidency and the bishopric and my visiting teacher have all already been to see us and we have only been here 3 weeks. We have already given the prayers in sacrament meeting and been assigned to speak next week. I was already given a calling, more on that later, and Nathan is supposed to be getting one next week. Everyone is so nice! The bishop brought us in his office and chatted with us for a while. As I have talked with people and they have asked questions about me, Madelyn has come up quite a few times, and I already feel more love and support from this ward than my old one. It's exactly the fit we needed.

3. New calling.
You guys. I am GIRLS CAMP DIRECTOR!!! For those who are not LDS, all the girls 12-18 go camping for a week or so every summer. We do fun games and activities and basically have a freaking blast. I will be in charge of planning it this year. I AM SO EXCITED. I was a ward missionary for 2 years before this, and was never really given anything to do. I am so excited to have this calling to challenge me and I am also excited just to have fun! It's gonna be the bomb. Who wants to come camping with me in June?!

4. Valentine's Day.
Nathan was in charge this year and I was super sick, so we went nice and casual. I woke up to notes and candy hidden all around on the apartment. On each note was a reason he loved me. The inside of my car was covered as well. I also found notes in my coat pockets and my wallet. He's so cute :) He brought me home flowers and candy. Then he made me a fancy dinner and took me out to frozen yogurt. Then we watched How I Met Your Mother all night. It was the perfect Valentine's Day.
Some presents from my kiddies.
We laughed so hard at that picture of me, because the candles are right on my taa-taas. Hahahaha.

5. Oscar Party.
Jessi and Marshall joined us on Sunday for an awesome Oscar Party! When I say "party," I mean that we ate a lot of food and watched the Oscars. Jessi made some bomb banana bread and we had a sparkling array of treats laid out, the most important being the Costco egg rolls. Because, seriously. We each made predictions of who would win each award (I won!) and played some Oscar bingo. Ellen was an amazing host. I love that lady. Remember when John Travolta called Idina Menzel "Adelle Dazeem?" That was awesome.
Jessica is mad because I WON.

6. Slumber party.
One night Nathan and I went to see Thor 2 in the dollar theatre and that made us want to watch Avengers but we wanted to watch it on our big TV, not our small bedroom TV, so we moved our giant California King mattress into the living room and slept out there. It was really fun. I highly suggest it. I also highly suggest a California King mattress. Lately, on Facebook, I have seen so many complaints about people not being able to sleep in the same bed as their spouse because they kick them or hog the blankets. I have never had that problem. I love my bed. It's the greatest place in the world.
This is what I woke up to. Lady thought it was weird that we slept in the living room.

7. Lady.
She is the queen of all the world. She likes the new apartment. She has two windows now to watch birds and people, which is her favorite pass time. She has become obsessed with drinking out of cups. If you set a cup down for a second, she's already there. If you get a cup of water, she howls until you get her one too. It's super weird. But she loves it. She is still very clingy. Loves to be held and loves to play. She doesn't wake us up as much in the night as she used too. She is very much on our schedule. When I get up to pee at night, she is zonked out somewhere on our bed. Her favorite spots are the blanket at the foot of the bed, in-between Nathan's legs, and my chest. We also discovered she likes shoulder massages. Nathan saw a funny youtube video about a guy doing that and so he tried it. She just stared up at him, in heaven.

8. The time we thought down town was dying.
Did you hear about that gigantic apartment building fire down town a few weeks ago? We were there as it erupted. It was inssaaannne. The pictures don't do it justice. It was gigantic. Luckily, no one was hurt and it was under construction so no one was actually living there.

9. Face-timing with my niece.
There are few things more hilarious. The way she talks... I just can't even handle it. "Well, school is just a little bit impossible for me. It is so very hard and I yelled at my teacher. But Bella taught me to swing on the swings like an adult."

10. Crazy-cat people adventures
You guys. We took Lady to the park. I am not even kidding. We always feel so bad that she's an indoor cat and stuck inside all day. Saturday was beautiful, so we got some in-n-out, out a leash on Lady, and headed to the park. She was a lot calmer than I thought she'd be, but she loved it. She liked to roll around and climb up the trees. She did not enjoy when she spotted a dog across the park. That's when it was time to go.

11. Springy
The weather is BOMB lately and we love going on lots of walks around our neighborhood and the park across the street. It's also a good excuse to go out for lots of ice cream. Sub Zero is what dreams are made of.

12. Video game night.
Nathan and Marshall have talked forever about wanting to stay up until the wee hours of the morning drinking Mountain Dew and playing video games. Whatever floats their boat. We did it one weekend. Jessi and I enjoyed the One Direction movie and hours of gossiping.

So that's been our life most of February and March!
Maybe I'll be better at blogging in the future.
Maybe not.
