Hello 3rd trimester

Oh second trimester, how I love you! Can I just say that literally, the morning my second trimester began, I woke up without morning sickness? How magical is that?!

2nd trimester is truly the honeymoon period. The sickness stopped. We found out the sex. I got a bump. We started feeling her move. I'm still comfortable. It's the best. But dang, I'm ready to start the home stretch.

I lost Madelyn at 34 weeks, so I don't really know what it's like to finish a pregnancy. I've heard it's rough though. I was still sleeping really well with Madelyn and wasn't uncomfortable at all. I'm hoping the 3rd trimester doesn't kill me, haha.

Here's my bulleted list about what happened/happening as we end the honeymoon period!

+ I'm starving. All the time. It's a problem. Last pregnancy wasn't this bad. I'm trying not to obsess about my weight and just enjoy this pregnancy. But I might weigh 800 pounds at the end.
14 weeks
+ I don't have any specific cravings or aversions. In general, I crave everything unhealthy. I've always had a sweet tooth, but my gosh, this baby wants candy and ice cream all day long! I have actually stopped eating lunch meat which will probably surprise my close friends and family. I had at least 1 turkey sandwich every day for probably the past 6 years. Always just bread and lunch meat and I love it. When I'm pregnant, I just microwave the lunch meat to keep it safe. I did that last time, and ate turkey sandwiches the whole time. A little ways into my first trimester, I just couldn't stand the feel and smell of the lunch meat. It made me gag! It tasted okay, but not that great. So after trying to force my normal lunch for a few weeks, I gave up. I can't remember the last time I had a turkey sandwich. Can you believe it, mom?!
16 weeks
+ Charlie horses are here! I literally feels like someone stabbed me in the calf. I usually wake up screaming. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I've never had cramps like this. I usually get them if I haven't been drinking enough water.
+ Feeling huuuuge. So much bigger this time. Trying not to be one of those pregnant ladies who's always complaining about feeling like a whale, but I really do feel like one haha.
18 weeks
+ My bump seemed to pop around 20 weeks, and then it hardly seemed to grow at all for several weeks. I realized later it was filling out on top and becoming more round, just not sticking out much more. Now it seems to grow every day, haha.
20 weeks
+ I got much better at taking weekly bump pictures this trimester. I know, you're so happy.
+ Started to get bloody noses which was such a blast.
21 weeks
+ Got a cold. Cold + pregnancy = death
+ She moves like crazy!!! So, so active. And she easy to get going too. If I haven't felt her in a little while, all I have to do is drink some water or lay down and she's up and moving. No idea when she sleeps. I started feeling "flutters" super early at 15 weeks. I kept thinking I was making them up, but they were definitely there. Not consistent, but there. Kicks started at 18-19 weeks. Again, not consistent. But Nathan felt her during our 19th week. Now she's moving nonstop. It's awesome!
22 weeks
+ Been feeling hiccups every once in a while. It's funny.
+ No Braxton hicks. Which is funny because I had them from 6-10 weeks. So I thought for sure I'd have them later. But nope!
+ Not as panicky and crazy as I thought I would be. A big part of that is because she's so active. The other night though I did have my first panic moment. She usually moves a ton as I am falling asleep. But she didn't that night. I woke up every hour hoping to feel her and I didn't. Finally at 5am I gave in and got out the heart monitor. I haven't used it since she started moving. I found her perfect heartbeat in seconds, and the movement woke her up. She kicked me for the next hour and had hiccups. I stayed up the whole time just feeling her and feeling very grateful.
24 weeks
+ Do to me changing insurances and it being super frustrating, I haven't gotten any extra ultrasounds yet. But I have one next week and should have 3ish more before I deliver!
+ Still excessively tired. This never went away with the first trimester like it's supposed to. Luckily, I sleep like a rock at night.
25 weeks
+ Had and passed my glucose test. I know the test used to be a lot worse, but I don't really know why people complain so much. Sure it's sugary, but oh well. I'm someone who NEVER drinks sugary drinks (diet coke and crystal light, baby) and it was fine. But ANYWAY. No gestational diabetes and I'm not anemic this time!! Yay!! I was anemic with Madelyn and had to go on and iron supplement which took pregnancy constipation to a whole new level. So then they put me on stool softeners which just made things worse. AHHH pregnancy!
+ My bump is ROCK SOLID.
26 weeks
+ Having my baby shower TODAY! My very sweet sisters are throwing it for me back in California.
+ Nothing is ready for the baby because we don't have a baby room. We are in a - bedroom, contract is up a few weeks after the baby comes. No idea where we will be living. I am surprisingly calm about this.

This pregnancy has gone insanely fast and I really feel the light at the end of the tunnel. So I embrace you, third trimester pains, weight gain, fears, and frustrations! Hit me with your best shot!
