THE THOURTH OF LUJY!!!

I have spent more 4th of July's with the Merkley's in my adult years, than with my own family. I even did it when Nathan was on his mission! But this is the first one we have been with his family since we got married. I was super excited. We made the trek up to Idaho on Thursday night and came home Sunday.

We started the 4th with a BIG breakfast. It was awesome. We hung out and then headed to the movies to see Maleficent. We originally wanted to play outside, but it was so friggin hot, we were miserable after only a few minutes, haha. So the cool movie theatre was a nice place to hang out during the hottest part of the day.

When we got home it had cooled down enough so we played outside and had a BBQ!

Then fireworks and dessert! I was so proud of myself for my pinteresty desserts. They weren't hard though, so I shouldn't be too proud. I make cakeballs all the time, but this time I did special ones for the 4th. They are strawberry cream cheese dipped in white chocolate and have pop rocks on top! They were fun to eat.

The Merkley's neighbors set off a huge firework show every year so it's really nice. We just sat in the driveway and watched. We also had a ton of our own fireworks. It's so fun to watch them with Heather. She gets to excited and laughs so hard. She kept saying "KABOOM!" all day when we would ask if she was excited to watch the fireworks.

The rest of the weekend was full of playing and relaxing. One night we rented the Lego movie. Okay. I loved that movie. I was laughing so hard. The opening line was something like, "Uh oh, they're coming. Watch your butts." And I was sold.

I woke up from my nap on Saturday to a musical show.

The time to leave came too quickly just like it always does. It was so fun though!
