The Merkleys: March Things

I am actually blogging before the month is over! We leave for vacation in Arizona tomorrow and won't be back until the end of the month, so I am actually trying to stay on top of this blog for once.

Here's some March thingys!

+ Sadie and Daddy are bff's like always

+ The weather has been great and we've had dinner and lunch at Sugar House park a few times.

Sadie loves to play soccer

+ Sadie and I love to walk around Liberty, then play on the playground.

+ We've been enjoying our backyard too. (Can you tell we like to be outdoors). We like going out there in the evenings, or having lunch there when Nathan comes home.

+ Eating unhealthy. As usual.

+ We had a random thunder and hail storm. Sadie LOVED it.

+ We have a park in our neighboorhood Sadie and I walk to a lot.

This was the morning after the hail storm. All the snows and ice was melting and she played in the puddles for an hour

Hard to tell, but she's soaking wet, hahaha.

+ We celebrated 8 years of dating, and 9 years of knowing each other!

+ Sadie and Lady. I know I always blog about them, but I just keep waiting for Sadie to not care that much about her anymore. But she never does!!!! She's obsessed. She cuddles her and follows her everywhere. When we get home, she runs to find Lady and kiss her. She's crazy.

+ We like to go down town and meet Nathan for lunch. And then he smiles awkwardly in the pictures I take.

+ Every year we run a big dinner and auction to raise money for our YW/YM program. I was in the kitchen helping when Nathan bid 37 BUCKS on this cheesecake. Good thing the money went to a good cause. And this thing was freaking delicious.

+ I don't get snapchat. In fact, I kinda hate it, haha. And I have tried!!! I do, however, LOVE playing with the filters. Hahahaha.

+ Nathan gets up every Saturday with Sadie. I love coming out to see them all snuggled together watching cartoons.

+ This is what my life looks like, haha. Laying on Sadie's floor, trying to play and be a good mom, but being mauled by a cat.

+ I am just SO IN LOVE with this girl lately!!!!! She is so sweet, cuddly, and silly. I seriously can't get enough of her. She is my best friend. I get emotional when I think about our family dynamic changing soon, but I am soaking up every last second of her as an only child.

+ Nathan said we were matching and needed a picture. Haha.

+ Lots of Katie time!

+ NEW COUCH DAY!!!!! THE BEST DAY EVER!!! When Nathan and I got married, we had to get all our furniture at once since we'd always lived in furnished, student apartments. We invested in a few things (ohhhh I love our California king sized memory foam bed), but most stuff we went cheap on. Including our couch. If you can call it a couch. It was more of a futon. It was fine in the beginning, but it has been miserable this past while. It really only sits a couple people comfortably, so there wasn't much room when people came over. It was small- short and not very deep. Lady destroyed the sides and the stuffing was coming out. The fabric had ripped in several places. The padding was almost non-existent and you could feel springs coming through. And, let's face it, it was really ugly. We have been looking at couches since last summer. It's been hard finding something that would fit in our lone, narrow living room, that was also big enough for it to really be an upgrade. We have been to a ton of furniture stores, and been on more furniture websites than I can name. Then a friend suggested wayfair and we found the perfect couch that night! It was well in our budget, really big, fit perfectly, and so comfortable!!! We are so happy with our purchase. The pictures are kinda deceiving, but it's really big. We never want to get off it, haha. It immediately bugged me that the couch and the rug didn't match. And a new rug was our next thing to upgrade. We had been eyeing one at Target for a couple years, haha. We wanted to get it originally, but it was a little too expensive. Well this time we splurged and I LOVE MY LIVING ROOM. It's so homy and comfy.

+ We took Sadie's 18 month/Easter photos yesterday at Temple Square. Katie lives right there so she came to join! So glad she was there because Sadie's thinks she's way funnier than us. She also snapped a few family pictures for us. It was such a gorgeous day!
