Sadie at 15 months

Doing some back tracking of posts I wrote and never posted. This was from when Sadie turned 15 months at the end of the end of December.

Sadie is 15 months now! I feel like she grew up 8 years just over Christmas break, so this post is way longer than the last couple.
Grumpy when facetiming with Nathan at work

She had a doctor appointment the other day, and our tall and skinny little lady is 23 pounds and 33 inches. Her head size is still off the charts, but I love her cute head, haha. It's funny to take her to the doctor now that she's so aware. She just gives the doctor the weirdest looks. She didn't have to have any shots, but when I say her on the table she immediately started crying. Guess she remembers things now! The doctor said she's doing great, and a little bit ahead verbally. Which would fun if she started really talking, because it's so freaking cute.
She got a fisher price Nativity and she was STOKED.
She's so weird. She grabs clothes out of our drawers and walks around like this
Words she says:
Mama
Dada/Daddy (she just started saying daddy and says it is SO CUTE. I am obsessed)
Ball
Kitty ("itty")
Banana ("nana")
Bye bye
Night night ("nigh-nigh")
Uh-oh
Apple ("bapple")
Hi
Hello
Bath (Baa)
Bubble
No
Wow
Woah
What's that ("wazzat")
What's this ("wuzzis")
Outside ("side")

Her comprehension is amazing, and it's super helpful with me being so lazy, haha. She understands pretty much every command we give her. Get your shoes, where's your milk cup, time to go night-night, where's the kitty, be soft, go play with your blocks, spin around in circles, let's take a bath, let's read a book.. she gets it all. I love it. She doesn't have all her words to communicate back, but she's really good at letting us know what she wants. It does often involve whining and pointing, but at least I know what she is whining about. When she wants something, like a snack or something to be opened, she will point at it or bring it to me and go "meh-meh-meh-meh-meh-meh" until I do it, or tell her no, haha. I don't know why it's that specific noise, but it gets the job done! It's great that we have a communication system, but she is also quite the little tantrum thrower. Luckily they are short and she is easily calmed, but she is so dramatic. She has the amazing pouty face, and if she's mad enough, she throws the head back and cries or throws herself down on the ground. I wonder where she gets her dramatic side from? ;)
Following me to the bathroom with her coloring book
Giving her baby doll a pacifier
No hands needed
She knows the sounds that a sheep, pig, cat, cow, and dog make. She knows where nose, eyes, mouth, ears, hair, tummy, and feet are. If you pucker up your lips, she will give you a kiss, and loves blowing kisses. She loves reading books. She has learned how to crawl up onto the rocking chair in her bedroom (and pretty much every other surface in the house that she shouldn't) and she will take books up there and read them and there is NOTHING cuter than that. Nothing. She loves singing songs, specifically "Itsy Bitsy Spider." If you ask her if she wants to sing a song, she will immediately start doing the hand motions to itsy bitsy. She knows them all, except "up came the sun." For some reason she won't do that one, haha. She loves to dance, and really knows how to get down.

She is afraid of almost nothing. It's sweet, but also really, really scary. She charges into the freezing cold ocean waves without stopping. She did the same thing when we went to the lake. She climbs up on everyyyyything. She runs at dogs 3 times her size. She dives into the snow and laughs. She definitely get that's fearlessness from her dad, haha. She is afraid of a few things. She is wary of strangers at first, but seems to warm up quickly. Especially if you give her food or your phone. She also doesn't like the game "Pie Face" haha. This fear came out over Christmas break. She cried when anyone, especially Nathan or I, got hit. She even cried when we watched the videos of it the other day.
Sadie' face when watching Nathan play angry birds

She's still the most ridiculously expressive child. I just love it. She was so happy and excited all Christmas. It was so fun! She's also expressive when she's sad and angry. Her face is basically an emoji, like my sister, Kelsey, says. She is getting so playful, and I love that she can really play games with us now. She loves to be chased, she loves to hide, she loves to be throw on the bed and tickled. She's loves going outside, which is sad since it's winter. She doesn't quite know how to play with older kids yet, but she loves to watch them. She really started playing with her big cousin Carson though. She is kinda obsessed with him.
She got to open an early Christmas present from her Grandma Merkley, and she was obsessed.

She's a bottomless pit and eats everything we give her. Everything. She loves vegetables, especially peas. But she also LOVES sweets haha. The way to her heart is ice cream. She would drink milk all day long if I let her.

She's getting aggressive and we are trying to teach "soft" but it hasn't quite gotten to her head yet. Poor Lady. She gets lots and lots of smack during the day while Sadie tries to play with her. She's a hyper little nugget, and literally never stops moving unless Barney is on. She is just nuts! But she makes life interesting for sure, haha. She doesn't like to be in a room without me with her. All her toys are in her bedroom, but she doesn't like to play in there unless I go in there with her. She has started holding our hands when she walks and it kills me. She LOVES the baby stroller she got for Christmas from my sister, and she carries it around everywhere pushing the most random things. Paper towels, cookies, my phone, her sippy cup, garbage.. pretty much whatever she wants.
She found Nathan's chocolate pudding and was pretty proud.
Throwing a tantrum when I was taking too long to make her dinner
She's just so fun. Everyday is an adventure. Exhausting. But SO FUN!

December listy update

Here some December things we did in December!

+ We got a million amazon boxed before Christmas, so we turned them into toys and coloring surfaces for Sadie.

+ Sadie gets to go hang out at Nathan's office during my doctor appointments, and she LOVES it.

+ Lots of Sadie snuggles. She has become sooooo snuggly!!!

+ Sadie has such a huge crush on a boy in our ward, Skyler. He's so cute with her.

+ IHARM Christmas party!!!! I love these girls so much, and we don't get together nearly enough. It was a blast getting together. I am really so blessed to have these ladies in my life. Sadie had a lot of fun being the center of attention. When we were all in a circle doing the gift exchange, Sadie just went around taking people's gifts, food, and cell phones.
Meeting Katie's little man, Tytus. She kinda loved him if you can't tell.
Cheri winning Sadie over with her phone.
Michelle knows how to lure the young children in. Ps. I want Sadie to marry George a little bit.
All the girls!! Yes we did the Saturday's Warriors hand-thigh thing.
Then we grabbed each other's boobs. I also just noticed Sadie, being held by Katie, is holding a bottle that is definitely not hers.
Um, aren't my friends really pretty?
Um, aren't my friends really pretty, again? These 2 are my soul mates for life.
+ Bath time with my little ducky

+ Sunday naps!

+ Sunday grumpies

+ Lady and I during our alone time. Every day since I got pregnant, when Sadie naps.. I nap. haha. Lady comes and snuggles with me.

+ I don't know where this was. Or when. But I like her.

+ Meeting Katie down town for mini playdates.

+ I love this city. Especially at Christmas.

+ We went to see the Tree of Life in Draper. It was so freaking cold and windy. We didn't stay long, haha.

+ We had a huge blizzard before Christmas. It also happened to be the morning of our second doctor appointment and I was so worried we were going to miss it. Don't worry, we beat the doctor who couldn't get out of her driveway, haha. There was over a foot. It was nuts. I am really glad we have 4-wheel drive now.

+ I moved all of Sadie's toys into her bedroom and it has done SO MUCH for my sanity, haha. We had her toys in the living room before, and she would trash the living room, kitchen, office area, and our bedroom with her toys. They were everywhere. Now they mostly stay in her bedroom and it's great. It's a smaller area to pick up, and on the nights where we don't have time, I can just shut her room and not think about them, haha. One day we will have a playroom!

+ Nathan turned 28!!! I wish I could say we had a super awesome celebration, but we were both sooo stressed. He was 3 days away from ending his semester, and we were 3 days away from our Christmas trip. He was doing 6 hours of home work a night after working all day. So there wasn't much time for anything. He went into work a little late, and we  decorated and gave him breakfast in bed. Breakfast in bed for Nathan is a smoothie because he can't eat real food first thing in the morning, haha. Sadie drank most of it anyway. Then he had work, and I picked up Olive Garden for dinner. We watched some TV and then he had homework, haha. He did get an awesome birthday present. We got him a new workstation. Which is basically a giant desk made special for music producers. It looks really nice and has made organizing all his music equipment much easier.

+ Sadie pushing Lady around on a chair. Because why not?

+ Oh this was beginning of November, haha. But I posted it because I miss when it was warm enough to go to the park.
T

+ The Rice's, a family from Nathan's mission, came to town a little while ago! Their son was going through the temple and they invited us to join. We got to have lunch and hang out afterwards. We really love them. They were Nathan's family while he was gone, and I have gotten to become close with them as well.

+ We had a blast at our ward Christmas party! Sadie cried when she was alone with Santa, haha.

+ Look how cool we are.

+ Critiquing daddy's music

Whew. ALMOST CAUGHT UP!
