+ She loves to say, "See ya!" and shut herself in her bedroom. It's so cute. She usually has to bring something with her, like a bag or toy. It's like she's going on a trip.
+ She loves to be wrapped up after her bath and pretends to shiver and shake and be cold. She also just does it randomly throughout the day. She'll wrap her arms around herself and shiver and go, "oh it's cold!" Then go get a blanket. Her stuffed animals get cold a lot too.

Loves to find new places to sit. She sat and watched me do my makeup one day and snacked at her very hygienic little table. |
+ She's generally just obsessed with being cozy. She always wants to be wrapped up and held and snuggled. She loves pillows, and loves to make little beds on the floor.
+ She gives us fist bumps and says, "Boom!" and it's awesome.
+ She thinks it's so fun to pretend to sleep. She lays down and fake snores. She always wants us to do it too.

She rediscovered the entertainment center and we had to hide it for a while. |
+ One of my new favorite things she says is "I did it!" Anytime she does anything she'll throw her hands in the air and yell it, haha.
+ She has suddenly become choo choo obsessed! All trucks and buses are also called choo choos. She has a show called "Chugginton" that she watches about trains and every morning she sits on the couch and asks for "choo choo show."
+ She says "woah" when we go over bumps and sharp turns in the car.
+ She loves to have her nails painted. She will bring me nail polishes and beg. She sits so still while I do it, but doesn't really like to wait for them to dry. She is also makeup obsessed. She always seems to get into my makeup. She loves to rub my brushes all over her face, and take the mascara (luckily she hasn't opened it yet) and poke herself in the eye with it, haha.
+ Itsy bitsy spider finally got kicked out of the #1 spot and she's wants us to sing wheels on the bus all day long.
+ She loves to point out mama and dada in pictures. She also loves going around and pointint to each of us and saying, "Mama, dada, Sasie!" We have also been teaching her that things belong to people, so she loves to point out "dada's drink" or "mama's phone" or "sasie's cheese." It's so cute.
+ She LOVES her new pillow and quilt. We turned her crib into a halfway "big girl" bed by getting her a pillow and getting out one of her homemade quilts from great grandma Merkley. She's been using her little blankets as pillows for a while, so I figured she wanted one. She also rolls allllllll around the crib and it worries me about putting her in a real bed in a few months when her brother takes over the crib. I thought it would take her a while to adjust but after one nap where she slept entirely curled up on the pillow, she stays tucked in under her blanket and LOVES her bed!! She gets to excited to get in it and is so obsessed with her pillow.
+ I've stopped keeping track of her words because she says new ones every day and repeats anything we ask her to. She puts together her own 2-3 word sentences and it's just so much fun to watch her learn! She is always talking. Whether it's babble or real words. It's so nice to be able to communicate with her so easily.
+ She definitely has toddler tantrums. But they aren't too common on normal days, and she is pretty easy to calm down. Her pouting though, that happens alllll the time. It's kinda cute though so I don't mind. She has mastered the pouty lip and the big, sad eyes when she doesn't get something she wants.
+ She calls animals by the sound they myself instead of their actual names, and it's so cute. She follows Lady around all day saying, "Hi meow!"
+ She does NOT like to do anything alone. If I say, "go play with your toys!" And she immediately grabs my hand and says "pease" and drags me with her. She always wants us sitting on the ground coloring, playing with blocks or balls with her. It's so sweet, but it does give me very little alone time, haha.
+ Still baby obsessed. The other night she got out a pair of new baby's pajamas and asked me to dress her baby doll in them. It was so sweet! I really hope she still loves babies so much when there is one living with her.
+ She loves to dance but only dances with her arms. It's so funny. She loves to dance in the car to our music and she always points at us in her mirror to dance with her.
+ She LOVES bugs. Which she did NOT get from me. When she finds any bugs outside, I cannot pull her away. A few weeks ago she found an ant in the house and she still goes back to that spot every day and asks where the bug is.
+ She loves to be "tickled" by soft things like strings and feathers. She brings them to me and says "please tickle" and wants me to gentle stoke them over her face and neck.

Feeding her bear some of her lunch |
+ She loves her stuffed animals and does a little "make believe" play with them. She also loved to feed them and give them drinks, or out them to sleep and tell us "shhhh!" She has certain ones she likes the most, and she bring them out every morning and sets them up on the couch to sit with her.

playing with tampons |
+ She does this little hop/skip thing when she runs and I am obsessed with it. I never want it to stop!
+ She tells me when she pees and poops, but HATES to have her diaper changed. So she will point at it and say, "poop." But then when I grab a new diaper she runs away crying.
+ She has started doing this weird but totally awesome thing. It's been going about a week now. When she wakes up in the morning or from naps, she doesn't make a SINGLE sound. She is dead silent. She just lays there and looks around. I have always left a book in her crib to buy me some time in the mornings, so she will quietly look at that too. But no talking. No fussing. No whining. It's so weird!!! The only problem is that if she doesn't wake me up.. I just keep sleeping. The first morning it happened I didn't wake up until 10! I have started to set an alarm so she doesn't just have to sit in there all morning. But she seems to enjoy it. She's just relaxing and reading or playing with the tags on her blanket. She's so weird.
+ I will add that up until a week ago, this has been a pretty hard month. Half of the month she was really not her normal self. For about 2 weeks straight, she wouldn't play on her own. She couldn't even be alone in a room. I had to be with her 24/7. She was so clingy, even refusing to go to Nathan. She cried at bedtime and nap time and wouldn't go to sleep unless I rocked her. She was waking up earlier in the morning. She didn't want to take baths (her usual favorite thing) unless I sat next to the tub the whole time. She wasn't eating as well. She threw tantrums all day long. When she wasn't throwing a tantrum, she was just whining. She wouldn't play with toys. All she wanted to do all day was sit on the couch with me. Nothing else. She was also very destructive. She would just go around throwing things and making messes because she knew she shouldn't. She wouldn't listen or respond to any of my usual discipline tactics that had worked before. It was so strange. It was sad to see her not be her normal self, and it was really draining to me as I am a large pregnant lady. I feel like it was a combination of a couple things, the biggest two being teething (all 4 canines at once), and sensing that change is coming. I won't lie that I cried a couple times thinking my normally chill and well-behaved child was suddenly completely changing right before the baby came. I don't know what clicked, but her teeth seem to have come through and she had a really fun weekend with family in town and she seems to be back to her normal self. Just in time for baby brother!!!!!
I can't believe this is the last monthly update before she is no longer an only child. Next month's update will be a whole new ball game!
