TWENTY THREE MONTHS!!!!! How is my baby almost 2?! I kinda can't believe this. I am also deciding I won't be doing the monthly updates once she hits 2. It's hard to keep up with! So there will be less Sadie updates. I can't believe we've hit this point. I just love this lady sooo much!!!
I feel like her talking has exploded just the last few weeks. She is better at putting together simple sentences and talking less like a caveman. She also just spits out words we didn't even know she knew. Like "butterfly" last night. She is starting to learn her letters and it's really cute. She can't identify them all, but quite a few. She really loves A, O, and W. The other day I drew the letter A and I asked her what it was and she said, "A! Apple! Ant!" Thanks youtube videos, hahaha.
She has learned her colors this last month. She picked them up so well!! She can identify blue, red, yellow, purple, green, and white. She loves to color and name each color as she uses it. She also loves to find colors in real life. She also loves to color on things she shouldn't, like her dresser and door. And the toilet. Ohhh Sadie.
She is OBSESSED with cereal. It's all she ever wants to eat. She will easily eat 3 bowls for breakfast. She cleans her bowl out too. Eats each piece of cereal then drinks all the milk. She's crazy. Other obsessions include the minions movie and the stuffed minion we bought her. She loves Bob the Train on youtube. She loves to be wrapped in her ducky towel. She asks for her towel when she's sad sometimes. She loves stuffed animals and wants several in her bed every night. She even tucks them into bed with her.
She wants to spend all her time outside, so I am very thankful for a yard! We spend lots of time playing her pool, swinging on the sing, drawing with chalk, or just playing in the grass. She loves to go to parks, but she is suddenly very nervous around bigger kids and mostly sits and watches. Or begs me to play. She has become obsessed with asking Nathan and I to play with her. "Mama play! Daddy play!" We have to sit on the ground, you can't play from the couch, and she usually doesn't really know what to do once we are down there. She just smiles. We are trying to get her to play a little more independently. She loves to line up her toys and does some imaginative play with them which is sweet. It usually involves the toys kissing, eating, or sleeping.
She loves to play on our bed and also asks to go lay there when she is sad. She thinks pretending to sleep is hilarious and will tuck herself into our bed and snore. She is ALL about cuddles. She asks for cuddles several times a day. I love it. She usually brings her blanket or her towel. On our last road trip she had trouble falling asleep and was asking for cuddles, so I got into the back seat and leaned my head to hers and she wrapped her arms around me and we stayed like that until she fell asleep. She gives lots of hugs and kisses. Sometimes she will randomly come up to us and kiss our leg or grab us by the face with both hands and plant one on us. She apologizes and tells us thank you all the time. I am not sure she knows what they mean, haha.
She does some of the weirdest things, and we love it. She asks, "what's that," all the time, but sometimes she does it in this weird, deep voice. She has also started making the funniest faces. First of all, she has mastered the attitude faces. Side-eye, annoyed face, grumpy face.. she can do them all. But she also does this weird, heavy blinking thing. I can't really explain it more than that, but it's funny. She also has a "Peyton cry face" as we like to call it. (Shout out to One Tree Hill.) It's so dramatic. It's like this open-mouth, wide-eyed cry. She's a little crazy.
We have definitely see the "terrible twos" hitting. She throws a lot of tantrums and can to from 0-60 really fast. One second she's laughing, then she's screaming. She's sassy and does things she knows she shouldn't just to get a reaction. She loves to steal my glasses and Jack's pacifiers and will often parade in front of me with them until I notice. Then she runs away laughing. She doesn't hit or bite, which is awesome, but she does yell at us. "No way!!!" is one of her favorite phrases. She has started crying, "I want daddy!!!" whenever I do something that makes her mad. She's such a little punk.
She loves to jump and hop instead of walking, and is usually running if not jumping. She loves to wear headbands and gets worried when they come off. She asks for "dada and baby" the second she wakes up. She went to her first movie, Finding Dory, and really loved it. She is still obsessed with Jack and showers with him with kisses. She also loves holding his hand and rubbing it on her face. She is so kind, silly, and sweet. And we're so glad she's ours!
