Clark County Fair!

Long Post. A million pictures. Be prepared!

This weekend, Nathan and I headed to the Clark County fair in his smmmmaaalllll hometown, Logandale, NV.
We have been looking forward to this for months!!
The fair is very nostalgic for us.
First of all, his home town is not only one of his favorite places, but one of mine. We were there every couple months while we were dating and I went there every few months while he was on his mission. It hold so many amazing memories for us as a couple, us individually, and obviously- Nathan grew up there! It's the cutest, weirdest little town. I love it so much. But Nathan's parents moved away a few weeks after we got married. This is only our second time back there as a married couple. And our first time back to the fair as a married couple!
The fair is also special because it's where I first met his family. A few weeks after we became officially boyfriend and girlfriend, Nathan took me home to meet his family. The drive there was the first time I really hung out with Austin and Ewa, and being there in Logandale was the first time I met Shawn, Amanda, Brad, Heather, Jaden, and his parents. Basically, everyone except Autumn. So yeah, it was a big trip. It's also where I started to fall in love with Nathan. It was the best. It's also a "small town" fair. A lot of people from Vegas come, but it's so cute and traditional. I love it.
Here we are at the fair in 2008
And here we are in 2014!
Our hair and selfie skills have improved.

We were supposed to go to the fair last year, but Maddie was born that exact weekend. We thought it would be perfect to celebrate Maddie's birthday- at the place we were supposed to be last year. I think that's what she would want. And it was perfect to be surrounded by family (especially cute nephews). Anyways, now on to the fair!

We got there Friday night and stayed up talking with Amanda and Brad. We really like those guys. They even let us sleep in their amazingly comfortable bed. (Not with them guys. They slept in a different room, pervs). We slept in on Saturday then got ready and headed to the fair! The babies stayed at home so we could be craaaazy adults.
We went first to the pig races! As always. In the past there were swimming pigs, but a new company came this year. So I was mildly disappointed. But the pigs did jump over hurdles. So there's that.
Then it was immediately time for FAIR FOOD!!!!! Corn dogs. Then dip n dots while we watched an all male a capella group sings songs from the 50's and 60's. It was awesome.
We headed inside to check out all the contest winners, for things like photography, quilting, and art. My favorite is always the little kid art section. I could spend all day there.
There was a high-powered fan in that room. It was heaven on earth.
Amanda and I fell in love with some handmade baby cradles.
And then this very fancy vest!
We headed to the small animals tent next. There was supposed to be an animal fashion show, but it never happened!! We were so bummed.
Baby pigs!!!!! I loved them so much.
Their mother, however, was terrifyingly gigantic and I was scared of her.
I love goats! There was a baby goat that was about the size of my shoe; I am not kidding. He was the freaking cutest thing I have ever seen. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture of him. People were crowding his cage and these two kids has their hands through the gate and were holding him, haha. I don't blame them. I have never seen anything cuter.
Then we headed to a hypnotist show, and an escape artist show. The escape artist show was... interesting. He made some cool escapes, but he seemed to always have to use sexual suggestive gestures to complete the escapes.
This picture is so romantic because we are walking past the spot where I first met Amanda and Brad in 2008. Ohhhh love!
We sent Nathan and Brad for food and they came back with funnel cakes and Texas Twisters. My top 2 favorite fair food items! Good men.
We did some more exploring and then Brad insisted we go to the belly dancing show. He was so excited to see some middle aged women shake it! We also caught a short youth karate and cheer leading show. Which was.. interesting.

At this point we had been at the fair for nearly 6 hours, so we were ready for a break. Nathan and I talked a big game about coming back when it was dark and getting BBQ for dinner and wandering around the carnival section, but who are we kidding. We are old people now. We can't do the fair like we did when we were 19. So we called it a day. But it was so much fun spending the day there with the Robisons! And we had an even more fun night.

Nathan and I first went to pick up some balloons for Maddie's birthday the next day at good old Lin's. Nathan was the produce guy there in high school. I love going to places in his little town, because he knows everyone!

and then we got to play with the little buddies!!
This was my favorite game. They each brought me a toy car, one at a time, and told me about it- what color, how fast, how many "rockets" it had. It went on for about an hour. They are so freaking cute.

Then they had to go to bed! They were so excited to sleep in their mom's tshirts.

After they went to sleep, we stayed up talking some more, and then Nathan and Brad went out for dessert. We then watched Back to The Future 2, because they were all disgusted that I had never seen it, haha. I slept like a baby that night. All that heat and walking around exhausted me.

Sunday we made a yummy breakfast then did a balloon release for Madelyn. I will do a special post for those details :)
We came home to some delicious cup cakes, made by Amanda, and sang to Madelyn. Then Brad and Amanda gave us some presents. One for the new baby. One for us/Madelyn. If you couldn't tell, I loved those little baby beanies. I can't wait for new baby to wear them!!
Then I got my cry face on for the painting Amanda had made for us for Madelyn's gift. You can't see those pictures, but you can see a picture of the painting!
Isn't it beautiful?! And look at the birds. The mommy and daddy are yellow and gray (our wedding colors) and the baby is coral (Madelyn's nursery color). Isn't that so thoughtful!? I just love it.

We had a few hours before we had to leave so we did more relaxing and playing. It was such a laid-back and relaxing weekend. Exactly what I needed.
 Love cuddling with them!

Thank you for having us Robisons! It was such a fun weekend! And thank you for loaning me your babies until I can have my own in my arms. I sure do love these boys.
