Birthday!

Woo hoo! I'm 26!
I had a lovely birthday weekend. I'm really glad I married someone who makes a huge deal out of birthdays. (Or every holiday for that matter). It makes me feel very special.

My birthday was Sunday so we decided to do our celebrating on Saturday. I woke up on Saturday to breakfast in bed and a decorated apartment. Don't worry, streamers and balloons were ruined in jus a few minutes by a crazy cat.
My man servant. Looking so happy!
Then I got presents! Nathan is the bomb at presents. He remembers little things I've mentioned in passing. It's the best. I got my new iPhone 5s last week which I said should be my only present, but Nathan doesn't know how to do that, haha. He got me a cute, summery maternity shirt which I am in great need of since all my maternity clothes from last time are winter clothes. He also made me this sign!! It's the lyrics to one of our songs.
I saw one like it on etsy over a year ago but it was ridiculously expensive. So he made me one :) Then I got to go to Target and pick out a maternity swimsuit and a new purse. I'm one spoiled brat.

After Target, we came home to check packages because Nathan said I had one more present. My present from my parents was also there. My mom had talked up this present all week. She even told Nathan he had to film me opening it so she could watch the reaction. I had no idea what to expect. So I was incredibly surprised to open it up and find an original, 1999 FURBY inside. Yep. A furby.
See, I like to give my parents crap because my childhood dream of owning a furby was never realized. I still talk about it all the time. So really, this present was my fault. But now all my dreams have officially come true!! (But don't worry, my mom also bought me the world's cutest diaper bag).

Nathan's last present was the best present of all. A FETAL HEART DOPPLER!! Essentially, a device that can listen to the baby's heart from our own home. After we lost Madelyn, I knew I'd want one for the best baby. When we got pregnant, I researched and found that most were insanely expensive. Recently, in a stillborn support group on Facebook, a women mentioned her Doppler that works great and cost her 20 freaking bucks. I couldn't believe it, but I did tons of research and it had awesome reviews. I talked myself out of wasting the money though. But Nathan got it for me anyway!! It's so simple and easy to use. It's not a high tech fancy one. You have to listen in headphones instead of it playing out loud. It doesn't count the bpm, so you have to time for a minute and count the beats. But for 20 bucks (instead of $200) I don't even care! I immediately wanted to try it, and we found her heartbeat in under a minute. I could listen to it all day!!

After that, Nathan and I headed to our favorite park with one of my favorite lunches- Jimmy Johns. It was a freaking gorgeous day. I even got a bit sunburned! We ate and relaxed and walked around and took a thousand pictures of the baby ducks. Because BABY DUCKS!

Then I got my last surprise of the day. My birthday cake was not only cheesecake (as I demand every year) but it was my FAVORITE piece of cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory!!!! (Which, for the record, is a totally overrated restaurant that everyone freaks out about and really it's just all about the cheesecake). Anyway, he bought me TWO pieces!! I promise I only ate one. So far.

Then we watched Lost and relaxed because then sun kinda wore us out. Shows just how long we've been in hibernation. We did some grocery shopping and some dinner eating and some Jim Gaffigan watching and called it a night! It was a fantastic birthday!! My last one before baby gets here. I keep reminding Nathan that it's the last time he can get me so many presents. Because I'll be spending all our money on baby clothes! Haha, just kidding. Not.
