The end is nearing!
There is light at the end of the tunnel!
Baby shaped light.
We had her last real ultrasound today. (I get quick ones twice a week to check position and fluid levels). She was soooo cooperative! You guys, SHE NEVER IS COOPERATIVE! On ultrasound she squirms away and hides and kicks the technician like crazy. On the non-stress tests she rolls off the heart monitor multiple times during the 20 minutes. But she was in the perfect position today! The technician was surprised that we could see so much because she says that usually when they are this big it's hard. Finally, this sassy pants lady did what was wanted!
Doctor said everything looked perfect. She's measuring a couple days ahead. She has hair and very chubby cheeks. She will probably have a big head like her mom. The hospital approved a 38 week induction, so I will likely schedule that with my regular dr on Thursday. That's less than 2 weeks! Ah!!
Another happy moment, she was head down!! I am not getting my hopes too high, because she has been head down before and flipped back to breech/transverse. I also still have a ton of fluid, so it's essentially a swimming pool in there for her. Just keep your fingers crossed that she stays head down! I cannot explain how much it hurts to have an almost 7 pound baby to lay transverse across your stomach. Here's some pictures to show you. (One is a naked belly picture which usually freak me out, but it makes me laugh so hard and I want it in my blog book, haha). Her butt is on the left side. She is basically just sticking her butt straight up in the air. It feels like she is going to burst through sometimes!! So painful. I am glad her head is where is should be for the time being. Because I can't take more of these butt parties.
I don't feel like my bump is really growing that much. It got to a certain size and has just kind of stayed there. She's growing ahead of schedule and I have extra fluid, so I am not sure why I feel smaller. Maybe I'll explode in the next couple weeks.
Nathan is so excited for this baby to get here. I love that he will sit and discuss things like home coming outfits and baby names for hours with me. (Yes, we still haven't named this baby. Leave me alone). He's gonna be the best daddy. I can't wait to watch it all happen!
I essentially live at the hospital and doctor's office. Ultrasounds and non-stress tests twice a week at the hospital. Then weekly visits (and sometimes an extra non-stress test) at my doctor's office. Good thing I really like the people who work there. Today I had a non-stress test after the ultrasound so Nathan joined me. Like I said before, I like these. They are quick and reassuring and I get to hear her heartbeat for 20 straight minutes. (Unless she's being uncooperative like last week and it's a whole 45 minutes, haha).
Nathan set up the car seat! I am really excited to drive around with it back there. Although, we want to take it somewhere to get checked. I am paranoid of it not being installed correctly. Sadly I only took one picture. And it's a crappy one. Deal with it.
We did the last thing on our list this weekend, and packed the hospital bag. This was really, really exciting. It made it seem so real that we really will be going there and really will be having a baby. So weird. As you can see in the picture, Lady made herself at home inside the hospital bag. She believes everything belongs to her. Seriously, no idea how she is going to handle a baby.
So ready for you to get here, baby!!
FREAK I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo what day is that to be induced?? I need to know the day!
Also you are such a cute pregnant lady. Also this is what I thought of in regards to your title: so close I can almost taste it, release your inner vision! Feel the rain on your skin..... Blah, blah, blah, the rest is still unwritten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog and am so excited for you both to meet your baby! I'm sure you've heard your share of "advice", but I wanted to pass along a website called http://spinningbabies.com/ it's all about best positioning for baby. Our first was born breech, but might not have been had we learned this beforehand. Our second was transverse and then breech until almost 37 weeks- but she turned head down after several days of the "breech tilt" among other things. There is actually a ton of ways to encourage baby's position (like knees apart- belly forward, not crossing your legs- basically any way your grandma wouldn't want you to sit it what is best for baby's position:) Baby #3, due any day now, is head down- our first kid to follow directions! Anyway, I thought I'd pass that on, well worth the effort:) All my love:)
