An ultrasound full of lady bits

Baby Merkley #2 is gonna be another little lady!!!!

I can admit now, this is what we both wanted. When I first got pregnant, I used to get really upset when I thought about having a boy. I had my heart set on a little girl. It was hard to let go of. But I knew there was a 50% chance of having a boy, so I prayed for help and started convincing myself that it was a boy. And I was successful! I convinced myself it was a boy and I started to become more and more okay with it. (Nathan wasn't as convinced it was a boy. He wanted a girl more, but he isn't as emotional and crazy as I am). When we went into the appointment, I knew it was a boy, (I even convinced myself I saw a penis on the screen) and I felt happy about it! I knew that all I really wanted was a healthy baby. So I was one surprised and happy lady when the doctor told us there was a baby with a vagina inside me! I gasped and tears filled my eyes. I couldn't believe it. I GET TO HAVE A LITTLE GIRL!!!!!
Don't worry, I can't see the lady bits either. I just trust my doctor.
We couldn't stop watching her on the screen. Even the technician kept talking about how funny and cute she was being. (That's a comment we got about her older sister a lot too). Our babies are just big movers! She kept moving her arms all around and waving at us. She would yawn and dramatically throw her head back. She was sucking her thumb and even did some dancing. She was bouncing her bum up and down. It was awesome. And look at her freaking profile! She's already beautiful!!

We called Nathan's family right when we got out, and then headed to meet my family for dinner. So glad they were in town! We met up at Pizza Pie Cafe. We were trying to think of a fun way to let everyone know the sex and we wanted to involve Ava. So we thought it would be fun to buy silly sting, pink or blue, and have Ava spray my brother Cameron with it. Turns out she was a little freaked out of the silly string idea, I think she thought she was going to get sprayed, but that's okay because I got to spray him instead! Everyone was surprised, except for my mom. She has been telling me for weeks that it is a girl.
Carson has no idea what's happening.. but he is so stoked about it!
I let Cameron give me a good spray too.
Kels and Jessi got us those ADORABLE shoes! Kelsey was sure it was a boy too. So I'm glad she didn't only by boy shoes!
We headed home and immediately got out our giant tub of girl clothes. I was nervous that it might trigger some sad emotions, but it didn't! I was so just so excited to bring this little girl into the world. Maddie never got to wear those clothes, I know she is so excited for her little sister to get to wear them.
Lady sniffed those clothes forever.
We are feeling so excited and so blessed! Thank you for all the love and prayers.
